© Noramco, Inc. is committed to an ongoing goal of continuously improving our environmental, health and safety compliance program. Minimizing environmental, health and safety risks are dependent upon every employee's commitment to performing beyond compliance.

Both our Athens and Wilmington sites have environmental management systems that are reviewed by third parties. This has resulted in ISO 14001 certification. Using these systems, © Noramco, Inc. focuses on issues such as emergency preparedness, energy and water conservation, and waste minimization. Noramco, Inc. is a member of the Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association (SOCMA), ©.

Effective training of our employees supports our goal of occupational injuries prevention. Plant safety committees conduct routine audits to ensure we effectively meet and exceed the performance expectations.

Recently © Noramco, Inc. received a coveted award from the Occupational Health and Safety Administration's Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP). This award recognizes facilities that have designed and implemented outstanding occupational health and safety programs and have injury and illness rates that are below industry averages. VPP participants maintain excellent safety and health programs in their workplaces and OSHA recognizes as models for their industries.

© Noramco, Inc. has also evaluated the new European standard for occupational health and safety as part of its effort to move beyond safety preparedness compliance. The Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series 18001, OHSAS 18001, unifies the various OH&S management systems and provides guidance on implementing an auditable standard not unlike the quality management system standard, ISO 9001:2000 or the environmental management system standard, ISO 14001:1996.
